During this time murals were growing in popularity. Murals are basically like a very big painting hung on a wall. Also some artists experimenated with oil paints. They thought that it would make like a 3D effect on the picture.

What Did The People Think of the Plague?

      The people thought that it was a horrible punishment for the persons sins and that it was sent down from the gods. They wore leather masks to prevent getting infected by the deadly infected air(it had herbs in it.). The people blamed the plague on the cripples, nobles, and Jews. The Jews were persecuted and murdered. The fear of the plague led to the people being more passoinate religous.

       I can't see how some of these people could have lived through all this mess. It would be very hard to not see what's going on when it's right in front of your face. All theae people dieng like rain dropping from the sky each second. All I can say is WOW what a terrible, terrible crisis happened during this time.

What Is This Medieval Curse?

 Have you ever had like a real bad cold or fever?  Did you feel like you were going to die from it? Well in 1347 it was a disease called the Black Death Plague and it was basically like the Boston Massacre. The only difference is that what was killing the people was something like a cold but the people died from it.

        The Black Death killed one third to one half of Europe's population.Yikes!!! I'm glad I didn't live in this era. The people died in dirty, cramped, smelly places. In these places fleas and rats lived here and they carried the disease. In paris the death rate was 800 people a day out of the 200,000 population.
The reason it was called the Black death because of a black swelling that was very deadly. The infection caused the victims to rot faster near the time of their death. Eww!!! It's like if the people in the morge ahd were just rotting without the formaldehyde( the medicine used to stop decomposion of the victim for a period of time.).

What Were The Symptoms of This Atrocious Curse?

     Have you ever had a like a flu or something and you didn't know what the Symptoms were? Well that's how it was for some of the first people that got the plague. They didn't know what was wrong with them so know one knew how they died, they just died. But once others started getting the same symptoms everyone knew exactly what the Plague was. Now here are some of the symptoms of the plague so now you can know what happens if some one gets the plague in our life time.

]
   Some symptoms were a black swelling, also on the body you might black and blue blotches. Some had swelling of the lymph nodes. The plague has three forms of plague. The first is bubonic, it contains fever, chills, black areas on the skin and more. The second form is pneumatic,  it contains coughing up blood, high fever, shortness of breath. The third form of is septicemic, was the least common form. It infected the circulatroy system. Some of the symptoms were like the bubonic but with the addition of seizuers, and to bleed easily. I can't believe what horrible symptoms some of these people had to go through, if a had this disease i would want to kill myself.
